01

Getting started

Find out whether BatterBee fits your bakery and what you need to begin.

Back to topics
Is BatterBee right for my bakery?

BatterBee is designed for home bakers and small baking businesses taking customer orders. It supports tiered cakes, breads and batch bakes, with recipes, customers, costing and stock in one workspace.

How much setup is involved?

Start with your bakery details, the ingredients you use and a recipe. Ingredient pack sizes, prices and recipe quantities give costing and shopping planning their useful context. You can build up your recipe book as you go.

Can I use it on my phone or tablet?

Yes. BatterBee runs in a modern web browser on your phone, tablet or computer. You can check orders on the go and keep recipe instructions nearby while you bake.

02

Running your bakery

Orders, recipes, costing and the work between enquiry and handover.

Back to topics
How does BatterBee help me manage orders?

Keep the customer, bake details, quote and due date together. The order-progress pipeline helps you follow work from enquiry through confirmation, production and handover, with the next step visible against the order.

Is it only for single-tier cakes?

No. BatterBee supports tiered cakes, breads and batch bakes. Cake orders can carry separate recipe choices for each tier, alongside toppers, extras and other order details.

Can I keep different sizes of the same recipe?

Yes. A master recipe can have size- or format-specific variants, each with its own quantities. You can manage your own cake sizes and use the appropriate variant when putting an order together.

Does BatterBee help me work out what my bakes cost?

Yes. Ingredient pack prices, recipe quantities and your time estimates feed into estimated costing, so you have context before choosing a quote. Keep those inputs up to date: estimates support your pricing decisions rather than setting your selling price for you.

Does it help with ingredient planning?

Yes. Pantry stock, recipes and upcoming confirmed orders are connected, so you can see shortages and build shopping lists around the work ahead. Record purchases to keep stock aligned with what you have bought.

Can I see what is coming up this week?

Yes. Your dashboard and calendar bring due orders and custom events into view, helping you plan the week and see what needs attention.

Can I follow recipe steps while I bake?

Yes. Recipes keep instructions, ingredients, variants and timings together. Kitchen view brings recipe-step checklists and the order’s production context into a working view, including tier-level detail for tiered cakes.

What is bakery progress?

Bakery progress adds XP, levels and badges for meaningful use of your workspace. It is cosmetic, is not shown to customers and can be turned off in your profile settings.

03

Your customers

A clearer way for people to discover your bakery and enquire about a bake.

Back to topics
Can customers enquire online?

Yes. Your storefront can show selected bakes, extras and galleries, with structured enquiry forms to collect the details you need. It is a starting point for a conversation and quote, rather than a full ecommerce shop.

Can I share a quote with a customer?

Yes. Orders can have a customer-facing shared quote, keeping the bake details, price and your payment instructions together in one place.

Can I share all my bakery links together?

Yes. Your bakery link page brings social profiles, your BatterBee storefront and custom public links together. Share its single URL or download a PNG or SVG QR code for packaging, cards and signage.

04

Trial & subscription

One month free, then one simple plan. Here is how billing and cancellation work.

Back to topics
Why do I need to provide card details for the free trial?

A valid card is required to activate the trial and is saved securely through Stripe. This helps us prevent spam accounts and lets your subscription continue after the free month. No payment is taken when you start or during your one-month trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, your subscription continues automatically at £15 per month.

Can I cancel my subscription during the trial?

Yes. Cancel through Manage billing before your trial ends and you will not be charged. You can continue using BatterBee until the trial ends.

If I cancel my subscription, when do I lose access?

Whether you cancel during your trial or a paid subscription period, you keep full access until the end date shown in your account. Your subscription will not renew after that date.

What happens when my free trial ends?

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the card saved during checkout is charged £15 per month and your access continues.

Will I need to upgrade for new features?

There is one paid plan: every released feature and future addition is included, with no paid feature tiers or upgrade gates. Recipes, orders and customers are not capped by your plan. Future features are included in the same plan when released.
