Information we collect

• Account information such as name, email address, login credentials, profile image, account preferences, address details, and business settings
• Basic account activity consisting of the date and time of successful sign-ins
• Business data entered into the platform, including recipes, recipe variants, ingredients, stock movement records, orders, customer details, and related operational notes
• Values submitted to free Baker's Toolbox calculators, including ingredient names and quantities where entered, together with the calculator used and whether it produced a result
• Aggregate daily page-view counts for individual Baker's Toolbox calculators, without an identifier for the visitor
• Marketing-site page visits collected through the Meta Pixel when you consent to marketing cookies, together with associated browser, device, and advertising identifiers handled by Meta
• Optional anonymous Baker's Toolbox usefulness responses and comments, together with aggregate support-link click counts
• Technical and security data such as IP address, browser information, device information, and session details used to help keep accounts secure
• Support or contact information if you email us directly

How we use your information

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the application
• Manage user accounts and authentication
• Understand basic account usage and provide account support using successful sign-in history
• Understand how the free baking calculators are used, identify confusing inputs, and improve the tools
• Measure and improve our Facebook advertising when you have consented to marketing cookies
• Send password reset emails and other essential account communications
• Provide customer support
• Improve and maintain the performance and security of the service
• Communicate important service updates

Operational access

Access to personal data is limited to people who need it to operate, support, secure, or maintain the service. This may include authorised internal administrators where such access is necessary for those purposes.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third-party providers where necessary to operate the service, such as hosting providers, infrastructure providers, file storage providers, and email delivery services. When you consent to the Meta Pixel, marketing-site page-view information is also shared with Meta under its terms and privacy policy. Where a provider acts as our processor, it processes data on our instructions and under appropriate contractual safeguards.

Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

In practice, this means account and bakery workspace data may be retained for the duration of an active account and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for security, support, record-keeping, or legal compliance.

Baker's Toolbox calculator submissions are not linked to a user account in the usage record. Detailed calculator submissions are retained for 180 days. Individual usefulness responses and optional comments are retained for 365 days. Anonymous daily totals may be retained for longer-term trend comparison. Visitors should not enter personal information into calculator fields.

The printable customer order brief may contain dietary and design notes. Those free-text details are used to render the requested page but are not copied into the usage record; only a limited summary such as lead time, product type, portions, fulfilment and whether optional fields were completed is retained.

Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Customer data entered by users

If you use the platform to store information about your own customers, you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect and process that data, and for providing any required privacy notices to your customers.

Cookies

Your browser stores cookies and similar information on your device. BatterBee uses essential technologies where needed to keep users signed in securely, remember cookie choices, and temporarily preserve in-progress form data during certain workflows. Your browser may send relevant values back to BatterBee when you use the service.

With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel on the bare-domain marketing site to measure page visits and the effectiveness of our Facebook advertising. It remains disabled if you reject marketing cookies, and you can change your choice from the marketing-site footer.
